Amaravati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that AP will witness higher temperatures for the next four to five days and cautioned the people to stay inside. Even on Thursday also, people suffered from scorching heat in the State. The temperatures recorded between 42.4 degrees Celsius to 47.8 degrees Celsius at various parts of the State.

The maximum temperature recorded at Bhattiprolu in Guntur district and Pamidimukkala in Krishna district as 47.8 degrees Celsius, according to the AP State Disaster Management Authority (APSDPS) report on Thursday. The temperatures recorded as 47.7 degrees Celsius at Nidadavole in West Godavari, 47.4 degrees Celsius at Karamchedu in Prakasam, 47.1 degrees Celsius at Korukonda in East Godavari, 45.6 degrees Celsius at Pathapatnam in Srikakulam, 45.1 degrees Celsius at Kotauratla in Visakhapatnam, 45 degrees Celsius at Satyavedu in Chittoor, 44.9 degrees Celsius at Bucchireddipalem in Nellore, 44.5 degrees Celsius at Gajapathinagaram in Vizianagaram, 43.9 degrees Celsius at Chagalamarri in Kurnool, 42.9 degrees Celsius at Bukkarayasamudram in Anantapur and 42.4 degrees Celsius at Kondapuram in Kadapa district.

On the other hand, the IMD forecasted heatwave for the next four days, till May 25. There will be maximum temperatures around 47 degrees Celsius in the districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari and about 44 degrees Celsius in West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts.

It may cross 48 degrees Celsius in Visakhapatnam, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts on May 23.
