Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari was sworn in as the first Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in the sworn in event on Monday morning. The event was held at the Thummalapalli Kalakshetra in Vijayawada. JK Maheshwari family members, interim CJ Praveen Kumar, chief secretary present at the event.

Justice Maheshwari was born on June 29, 1961, and enrolled as a lawyer on November 22, 1985. He started practice in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and got involved in civil, criminal and constitutional cases. On November 25, 2005, he was appointed as Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. In 2008 he became a permanent judge. He will retire on June 28, 2023, as High Court CJ.
