Kakinada: Additional SP (Operations) Ari Hafez has announced that the police department was fully geared up to help the district administration and people to check the spread of coronavirus.

Under the directions of Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, the district police organised a video conference at the SP Office here on Friday on the methods to prevent the spread of coronavirus Additional SP (Operations) Ari Hafez, Additional SP (Admin) K. Kumar and Additional District Medical and Health Officer D. K. Satyanarayana, participated as a Chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, OSD Hafez advised the staff to follow normal Indian etiquette 'Namaste' to greet others instead of handshakes. He also asked them not to take their children out unnecessarily. "If you are sick, avoid going out," he added.

Furthermore, he said that drop all tour and temple visits tour plans now. It was better to avoid visiting shopping malls and theaters, he added. He asked them to share this information with their neighbours and others.

Hafez suggested the staff and people to immediately consult the doctor if they notice the symptoms of Covid-19 such as fever, cough, breathing problems and others.

He said that help line numbers were available to the people in the state level as well as district level and suspected persons can call for the help.

Dr. Satyanarayana suggested that Covid-19 can affect any person irrespective of age and sex. He said that hand sanitizers will be made available in public places.

So that people can wash hands and avoid contracting or spreading COVID-19 in the district.

A total 1,150 police personnel from all departments participated in the programme
