Kurnool: An insect was found in the breakfast served to the patients, who were undergoing treatment at Viswabharati district Covid hospital here on Saturday. When the patients brought this issue to the notice of the hospital authorities, no one is ready to address the problem.

According to the sources, as many as 140 patients were undergoing treatment at the hospital. According to Covid-19 protocol, the patients should be served nutritious food.

Even the government has already announced that Rs 500 is being spared to every patient diet. During the 14 days isolation period, every patient must be served nutritious food besides providing medical care.

However, an inpatient, on condition of anonymity, said that they are being supplied with insipid food. Most of the time they were served with half boiled rice and at nights, the dinner is not worth eating. Only one egg in place of two is served at night times and no dry fruits, laddu or fruits are supplied.

How will a patient recover early when this kind of food is supplied to the patients, asked the patient?

Dr Manohar, who is handling the Covid patients' issues including admissions and other facilities at Viswabharathi Covid hospital, has denied the allegations and said the patients in isolation ward used to blame the authorities. Regarding insect found in the vermicelli upma, he said that he will look into the issue.
