Lift paddy from farmers directly: Rythu Sangham
Farmers under the aegis of AP Rythu Sangham staged dharna in front of paddy purchase centre here on Saturday, demanding that the administration directly lift paddy through paddy purchase centres and pay the price for the produce without delay.

The protesters raised slogans to solve the problems of the farmers at the paddy purchase centres.
Earlier, the leaders of Rythu Sangham and CPM visited the paddy purchase centre and obtained details from the organisers and farmers. The protesters alleged that only half of the 88 farmers who sold their paddy at the IKP paddy purchase centre were paid the price.
About 2,000 farmers in the villages under the centre have produced the paddy and a majority of them sold their produce to the middle men because of lack of arrangements by the government. They demanded that the government provide godown facility for each paddy purchase centre.
