Ongole: The Prakasam district police conducted a Run for Unity, national integrity pledge and other programs in Ongole while observing the Ekta Diwas on Thursday as part of the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Following the instructions of the district SP Siddarth Kaushal, the additional SP Admin B Sarath Babu flagged off the run at the district collectorate. The run continued up to the Sanghamitra Hospital at the south bypass road and concluded.

The SP Siddharth Kaushal administered the national integrity pledge to the district police office staff and, AR Police and other officers in the DPO. He said that the government has ordered to celebrate October 31, the birthday of Sardar Patel as National Integrity Day every year.

He said that Patel has worked restlessly to unite various parts into one country for the integrity and security of the nation. He said that taking inspiration from his foresight in making Indian union, everyone should thrive for the unity and integrity of the country.

In the evening the Prakasam police conducted the march fast from the district police office to RTC bus stand via Kurnool road.
