Ongole: Prakasam SP Siddharth Kaushal removed rowdy sheets on 65 people, who have reformed from the criminal life, giving them new life in the New Year 2021.

In a programme 'New Year- New Life' held at the Police Kalyanamandapam here in connection with the New Year Day on Friday, the SP announced the lifting of rowdy sheets on 65 well-behaving persons. He said that following the philosophy of the Constitution and to bring change in the holistic member society, the decision to remove the history sheets was taken.

He said that the police department would open a history sheet when a person violates the law, gathers full details of the person and keeps track of his activities through the sources and registers them in the sheet every month. He said that the intelligence officers, SHOs, CI, SDPOs will scrutinise the records periodically and in December every year.

He announced that they will recommend removing the rowdy sheets only after considering the good behaviour for the last ten years and their health issues. Stating that surveillance on rowdy sheeters has been in place since British times, he said that it was a very good programme, as well as the police manual also suggests keeping a watchful eye on rowdy sheeters. He said that when there is a rowdy sheet on a person, the personal, social, and economic life of the person and their family deteriorates and the only way to get out of the situation is to behave well and abide by the law.

As part of the programme, the SP announced the lifting of the rowdy sheets on 65 well-behaved people, including 7 persons from the Ongole subdivision, 20 from the Darsi subdivision, 18 from the Kandukur subdivision, and 20 from the Markapuram subdivision, on the New Year Day.

He advised that all of them to forget their past and do good to get good recognition in society and go through a mental transformation and lead an ideal life. He warned that the rowdy sheets will be re-opened and legal action will be taken against them if they do not behave well. He announced that active rowdy sheeters would be identified and special surveillance would be set upon them.
