Rajamahendravaram: Long queues were seen at various Rythu Bazaars in the city to get onions from 7 am to 12 noon. Because of skyrocketing prices of onions, the government is supplying onions for Rs 25 to white ration card holders as the price of onions per kg is about Rs 90 in the open market.
The people are demanding the government to give at least two kgs of onions per head. Rythu Bazaar estate officers are facing tough time to answer the public about subsidized onion scarcity.
