Guntur: Minister for Transport, Information and Public Relations Perni Venkatramaiah felt that it is responsibility of everyone to recall sacrifices of martyrs in Quit India movement.

Addressing a meeting held in Tenali on Monday on the occasion of Martyrs Day celebrations held under the aegis of Tenali Municipality, he recalled the sacrifices of Tammineni Subba Reddy, Gali Rama Kotaiah, Majety Subba Rao, Sirigiri Lingam, Bhaskaruni Lakshminarayana, Prayaga Raghavaiah and Jasti Appaiah, who were killed in the police firing on August 12, 1942 in Tenali and paid floral tributes to them.

Speaking on this occasion, he said the government would distribute fine variety of thin rice from September 1 in Srikakulam and added that the same rice would be distributed in other districts also. Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar and MLA Annabathuni Sivakumar were present.
