Srikakulam: District Collector J Nivas here on Sunday stressed the need to adhere to election rules in the forthcoming elections to local bodies.
Speaking at the election training camp for officials and staff here, the Collector explained the guidelines for elections. He directed the officials and staff to study clearly the Election Commission guidelines for the Zilla Parishath Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs), Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs) and to the posts of Mandal Parishad president (MPP) and Village Panchyats.
The Collector asked the officials to ensure that elections are held peacefully. He warned of action against erring officials.
He asked officials to identify polling stations and facilities at these stations in advance. Officials should be cautious in implementation of election rules, he said.
