Vijayawada: Teachers working in the government schools across the state staged a protest near the District Educational Offices on Sunday opposing the decision taken by the government to conduct the transfers by web counselling.

The Secondary Grade Teachers are demanding the government to conduct the manual counselling for the transfers. But, the government had denied the demand and issued orders that online counselling will be conducted at any cost.

The JAC of teachers unions decided to observe one day fast on Monday and later lay siege to the office of the Director of education on June 10.

The deadlock continued till Sunday as two sides determined to their decision. The government is determined to complete the counselling and give orders before reopening of the schools.

Online counselling process is fast and time saving compared to the manual. But, many teachers are opposing the web counselling stating that they may not get clear information and manual counselling is more transparent and clear to understand the vacancy positions.
