Tirupati: TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stated that he would give more priority to youth in the party as they have more fighting spirit.

Addressing the party cadre in Chittoor district at a meeting held at Ithepalli of Chandragiri constituency on Wednesday, Naidu announced that he would give 33 percent of seats for youth in the party from now onwards. In the same breath, Naidu said weaker sections and backward communities would also get priority in the party. During his three-day stay in the district, he wanted to give a vision and direction to the party and make it a powerful once again.

Asking the party cadre to choose their leaders at all levels, he alleged the YSRCP government has been going ahead with vindictive attitude and involving in various attacks on TDP workers and filing false and fake cases. "I have seen several crises during my political career right from August crisis and came out successfully every time. I found one opportunity out of every crisis. Many people have said that TDP is a closed chapter. They should remember that TDP will be bounce back with double speed," Naidu stressed.

However, the main concern was the state was losing its reputation and getting the names of South Indian Bihar and Terrorist state, he stated and added that pains everyone and the party will fight to earn the goodwill again for the state. Every youth should resolve to fight like a Bobili Puli and Kondaveeti Simham, he said and advised the cadre not to dishearten with the fake cases. "Our fight is not on police but on the YSRCP government. They cannot suppress our workers or party," he declared.

Listing out various development works which TDP government has initiated, he said that even in Chittoor district, irrigation works have progressed well and several road works were nearing completion. On industrial front also, the TDP government has strived hard in bringing several industries to the district, he pointed out. "But I still wonder, we won only one seat out of 14. I don't understand what people have expected from us," Naidu said.

He said that the main agenda of his stay in the district was to discuss how to take the party forward by serving the people with dedication. Recalling that he had given the government six-month time to settle down, Naidu said the government has failed on all fronts and could not keep even that deadline. "When we gave a call for Chalo Atmakur, the police have tied the gates at my house with ropes. I told at that time itself that those ropes will become hanging ropes for the government," Naidu recalled.

Politburo member G Aruna Kumari, former Minister N Amarnath Reddy, former MLAs M Suguna, DK Satyaprabha, D Ramesh, GV Srinath Reddy, district party president P Nani, Telugu Yuvatha district president P Sridhar Varma, MLCs G Sreenivasulu, BN Rajasimhulu, senior leaders N Kishore Kumar Reddy and K Sankar Reddy were present.
