It is known fact that all the services at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam have been stalled for the last couple of months due to country-wide lockdown imposed by the central government due to coronavirus pandemic.

It is known fact that all the services at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam have been stalled for the last couple of months due to country-wide lockdown imposed by the central government due to coronavirus pandemic. There have been no darshans for the public for a long time at Tirumala temple. Meanwhile, the TTD is contemplating to begin the darshans to the devotees after the lockdown is exempted.

The TTD has started the exercise to this extent. In this regard, TTD decided to allow on few people for darshan as part of the trial. It is also learnt that the temple would be kept open for 14 hours every day and only five hundred people per hour could offer prayers.

The TTD is making arrangements to allow TTD employees for the first 3 days followed by the other devotees for the next 15 days.

With the decision taken by the TTD, only 7,000 people can visit the temple daily. Those who wish to visit temple have to book a slot online in advance. TTD, which is supposed to make tickets available to pilgrims first, has a special entrance. It is reported that arrangements are being made near Alipiri to this extent.

Meanwhile, the state has recorded 36 new cases taking the total to 2100 cases with 48 fatalities. However, the lockdown is due to end on May 17, the government is planning to ease the lockdown rules in green and orange zones.
