Two portfolios changed, Kannababu given additional responsibility
The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has changed the portfolios of three ministers on Thursday.
Amaravati: The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has changed the portfolios of three ministers on Thursday. The Marketing portfolio from Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries was transferred to Kurasala Kannababu, Minister for Agriculture.
Food Processing portfolio from Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Minister for Industries and Commerce and Information Technology was also transferred to Kannababu. Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney issued orders on Thursday with this effect.
The transfer of the two portfolios were taken place as part of strengthening the Agriculture sector, informed the sources in the Chief Minister's Office. Both the Marketing and Food Processing are interdisciplinary to the Agriculture portfolio.
If all these three together are placed at one Minister, then the administration and decision making process will be very convenient. The decisions also could be executed swiftly, informed the sources.
