Vijayawada: Panchayat Raj Minister and the district in-charge Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and the Ministers on Tuesday released water for Krishna eastern delta at a programme organised at the Prakasam barrage.
Due to early onset of monsoon and the rainfall registered in the upland areas, the Irrigation Department released for Krishna eastern delta this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramachandra Reddy said the water was released for Ryves canal and Eluru canal on Tuesday and water would be released by the end of this month for Bandar canal.
He suggested that the irrigation officials ensure supply of water to the tail-end areas and warned that the government would not tolerate if the irrigation officials neglect to the complaints of the farmers.
Ministers Perni Nani, Kodali Nani, Velampalli Srinivas, District Collector Md Imtiaz, Irrigation SE Narasimha Murthy, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Jogi Ramesh, K Anil Kumar and others present on the occasion.
