Visakhapatnam: Foundation stone laid for aqua quarantine facility centre

Visakhapatnam: Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana said the aqua quarantine centre will help to develop the fisheries industry in the state.
Minister Mopidevi on Wednesday laid foundation stone for the construction of aqua quarantine facility centre at Nakkapalle mandal, Bangarammapeta in the district. The Minister said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has introduced several welfare schemes including disbursement of Rs 10,000 to fishermen in the state under 'YSR Matsyakara Bharosa' scheme.
With the help of Union and State government funds, the aqua quarantine facility centre is being built in 30-acre land with an estimated cost of Rs 34.76 crore.
The centre will be useful for the fishermen across nine districts. B V Sathyavati, Anakapalle MP and Payakaraopeta MLA Golla Baburao and others participated in the foundation-stone laying ceremony.
