Visakhapatnam: Educating the passersby using a mic and sharing pamphlets, Waltair Division conducted an awareness campaign to mark the International Level Crossing Awareness (ILCA) Day here on Thursday.
With the theme 'Your family members are waiting for you at home', the day was observed at various level crossing (LC) gates under the guidance of Senior Divisional Safety Officer N R Sahoo.
Trespassers, vehicle users, auto-rickshaw drivers and residents of nearby areas of LC gates were counselled and pamplets were distributed by the Civil Defense staff led by inspector C. Prasada Rao.
The campaign has been supported by the International Union of Railways (UIC) with the support of the railway community around the world. A number organisations and international institutions joined in raising awareness of the risks involved at level crossings.
