Maruti Suzuki has recalled 40,618 units of the Wagon R for a possible issue of the fuel hose fouling with a metal clamp that holds it in place.

Only the 1.0-litre variant of the WagonR is affected by this recall, and that too ones that were manufactured between 15 November 2018 and 12 August 2019. The carmaker has clarified that the recall affects only the new-gen model, which was launched on 23 January 2019.

Maruti Suzuk's dealers will start contacting owners from August 24 onwards to bring their cars to the dealership/service centre for an inspection. If a fault is detected, the company will replace the faulty part free of cost.

Alternatively, owners can also check if their vehicle has been recalled by visiting Maruti's website and entering their car’s chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number).

While Maruti has not specified if the cars are safe to be driven in their current condition, we recommend that you find out if your vehicle falls under the recall. If yes, then get it inspected at the earliest.
