With the coronavirus impact being very severe still in Tamil Nadu, the government and the industry both are perplexed about how to resolve the deadlock.

With mounting interest payouts and budget estimates going haywire, WhatsApp groups in Chennai film circles are reportedly circulating messages which seek a substantial pay cut by the top stars to help resolve matters.

While a reduction of Rs 20 crore from the fee of Rs 80 crore is sought from Vijay for his ' Master', Rajinikanth has been asked to quote only Rs 80 crore as against his current fee of Rs 100 crore to keep his latest venture ' Annaatthe' viable. Will this happen, only time will tell.
