Summer is here! It is tempting to step out and have a nice picnic, but we all know better than that, this quarantine season. Naturally, it is essential to find ways to keep the kids busy around the house and ensure they're not bored.

Here are a few fun ideas by using items easily available in and around the house that one can use to create decor:

Start with the wall

If your kids like drawing, paint a wall in the kids' room with chalkboard paint. This type of paint doesn't need any base work unlike other paints. Chalkboard paint goes on smoothly and its consistency is such that the paint is less likely to drip compared to regular paint.

Cozy play area

Make a teepee using rods with bed linen thrown on top to create a cozy play area. Place a soft rug on the floor and throw lots of cushions on it for a fun night camping in.

Wall decals

Wall decal is a simple and easy way to transform any kids' room into a bright and cheerful room. Cut out various shapes of flowers, butterflies and clouds using paper, stick them on the walls and voilà, you're done.

Repurpose old packaging

Wrap shoe boxes and packaging cartons in colourful printed craft paper and use them as book shelves or toy storages. Empty milk cartons can be washed and dried, then covered with old newspaper to convert them into DIY bird houses you can hang from the ceiling.
