Hyderabad: APS Golconda celebrated the 8th Annual Sports Day
Hyderabad: APS Golconda celebrated the 8th Annual Sports Day. The event was graced by the chief guest Brig RR Kumar, Commandant Artillery Centre, Hyderabad & Chairman APSG. The function began with the welcome speech followed by releasing of VIBGYOR colour balloons denoting the theme of
the meet, "Team Work". The chief guest declared the Sports Meet Open and took the salute of the impressive March Past led by the captains of all the four Houses kept the spectators awestruck as the students marched with military precision and perfect synchronization in their resplendent house colours to the tune stirring marching music of the school band.
The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with the oath being administered by the Head Boy followed by heart-rending musical notes from the one on one school band "Heart Hackers". "Pal Genies" the mascots were the center of attraction as they emerged amidst the colourful smokes turned the ceremony into an aura of thrills and cheers.
The Principal Vidya Muralidharan presented a report on the activities and achievements of the school. This was entailed by the races wherein the participants participated with full verve and vigor. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.
The most intriguing aspect of the event was the splendid field drills, involving mass student participation which echoed the theme of the sports day to work in unity to accomplish the best results. The zealous parents, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded to motivate the enthusiastic young sports stars. The chief guest felicitated the young APSGians who were state and National level champions in various fields of sports. He also conferred the trophies to the winning houses.
Nehru House won the trophy for the best March Past and Academics whereas Tilak House received maximum points for CCA and Sports and took away the Overall Championship trophy.. The chief guest in his motivational speech complimented the school for its achievements on professional recognitions and it's strenuous effort to accomplish a Holistic perspective in all endeavors of the school.
The school playground rimmed with flags and balloons reverberating with the sound of cheers made everyone's day. They sprayed on the field, a riot of hues, vibrancy, and radiance.
