Hyderabad: NTPC organized the State Level painting competition for school children from Telangana today as a part of the nationwide energy conservation campaign launched by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

In the Group 'A' category comprising school children of Classes IV-VI from schools across Telangana, Boga Sai Kumar, a Class VI student of ZP Secondary School, Haripirala, Mahabubabad District won the first prize. V Charan, a Class VI student of TSWR Fine Arts School, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad won the second prize and Verender Choudhary, a Class VI student of Shivappa High School, Keesara, Medchal Malkajgiri District won the third prize . These children drew the paintings reflecting the theme of "Spare a Watt; Save Lot" and "Turn of the light when outside it's bright"

In the Group 'B' category comprising of 7th, 8th and 9th standard school children from across Telangana Bhavya Raja, Class IX , Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad won the first prize, K. Harish, a ClassIX student of TSW Residential School, Mancherial won the second prize and Kavya Gupta, a Class IX student of Kennedy Global High School, Bachupally, Hyderabad won the third prize . In this category the themes for the paintings were - It pays to be Energy Efficient and It's in your favour to be Energy saver.

B Seshu Kumari, Director, SCERT, Hyderabad presented the prizes by way of SBI Gift Cards worth Rs 50000 for first prize winners, Rs 30000 for second prize winners and Rs 20000 for the third prize winners and ten consolation prizes of Rs 7500 in each group . The winners of state level competition will represent Telangana at the national level painting completion on energy conservation to be held in New Delhi on December 12.
