The report registers impressive growth in the number of candidates from tier 2 & 3 cities who appeared for 2018-19 government exams in India. The findings reveal that students from Hyderabad are most likely to apply for the following competitive examinations: SBIPO, RRB NTPC, RRB JE, IBPS RRB, and SSC GD. It also uncovered that of the total volume of candidates appearing for these exams across India, 54 percent are male with 46 percent being female.

The study also found that the ratio of female candidates appearing for examinations is higher in Hyderabad (46 percent) as compared to other areas where it stands at 42 percent. Another interesting observation made by Adda247 is that candidates from Hyderabad are more inclined to use digital or online means to register and prepare for competitive examinations than their peers across the country.

According to the report, tier 1 cities received 30 percent registrations compared to 70 percent registrations in tier 2 & 3 cities. More importantly, there was high female participation worth 51 percent as compared to 49 percent of males in these exams. Competitive examinations namely, SBI-PO, SSC CGL, and IBPS RRB received the highest enrolments – 45.82 percent, 22.31 percent, and 19.50 percent respectively. The report also includes data collected from cities like Hyderabad, Patna, Pune, Lucknow and Jaipur, which registered participation from 65, 07, 470; 54, 37, 345; 36, 93, 402; 35, 66, 370 and 46, 22, 508 users, respectively.
