Mysuru: Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy quipped that the state leaders of BJP have to stand with their folded hands in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and obey what they said.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Kumaranna interaction with the Lingayat community voters of Krishnaraja Constituency held at Mysore's Nerambali Savitramma Subbarao Kalyanamantapa on Monday , he said that Delhi BJP leaders are not respecting former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and chief minister Basavaraja Bommai and alleged State leaders have lost the power to take decisions. He lashed out that the BJP-led central and state governments have not benefited the state.

'Many issues of state are not recognised. Therefore, voters should observe the behaviour of national parties like BJP and Congress', he said. HDK gave a long explanation and clarification to the Lingayat community about the formation of the JDS-BJP alliance government in 2006 and the fall of this government due to non-handover of power. 'I am not at fault in this matter. I was ready to hand over power to BJP. But, it didn't happen. I was scapegoated in this matter'. He said that this is all a finished chapter.

'The Veerashaiva Lingayats gave strength to the BJP to become dominant in the state. The community supported mainly due to leader of this community who is BS Yeddyurappa. So far, BSY has been cornered by BJP. He was not respected when he was CM. When he visited Delhi, he was kept for 3 days without giving any time.' Kumaraswamy said that the people of community should understand this. 'Pancharatna yatra has been conducted in 34 assembly constituencies of 6 districts of old Mysore province. There has been a good response. There is a supportive environment for the party'. He said that he is confident that JDS will win in 33 constituencies of this part.

There is an example in the state of forming a government under the leadership of Janata Dal as Vokkaligas and Veerashaiva Lingayat community were united in the past. This equation should happen in the next election. He requested that the two communities should cooperate for that. MLAs GT Deve Gowda, Sa.Ra. Mahesh, Ashwinikumar, MLC C.N. Manje Gowda and party leaders were present.
