The lactic acid and zinc present in the yoghurt help clear up blemishes, even out skin tone and promote younger looking skin by reducing wrinkles

Most people are unaware that yogurt face mask has many benefits. And guess what? It is also very easy to prepare.

Before you try these masks, a word of advice would be to try the masks on a small portion of your skin to check for allergic reactions. Also, use plain, unflavoured and unsweetened yoghurt in all mask recipes.

Yoghurt and honey mask

The combination of yoghurt and honey will nourish the skin from inside while making it soft, smooth and hydrated. Take half a cup of thick yoghurt and add 2 tbsp of honey into it. Mix well and apply as a mask to cover your face and neck. Let dry and wash after 20 minutes.




Yoghurt-strawberry smoothie mask

The salicylic acid present in strawberries combined with the hydrating properties of yoghurt will give you bright skin instantly. It will also destroy the zits in no time. Blend 2-3 fresh strawberries with half a cup of yoghurt. Using a brush apply on the face and neck area. Let dry and wash with cold water.




Yoghurt and gramflour mask

The exfoliating properties of yoghurt and gramflour are commendable. This is the most gentle and natural way to scrub the skin of dead cells and accumulated grime. Mix 2 tsp of gramflour in half a cup of skim-milk yoghurt. You can adjust the consistency by adding more gramflour. Mix well and apply a thin layer on your face. When it dries, scrub away using water




Yoghurt and turmeric powder for acne prevention

The anti-microbial properties of turmeric are well known. Yoghurt on the other hand will get the grease off your skin while keeping it hydrated. Mix 1 tsp of turmeric powder in half a cup of low fat yoghurt and apply on the face and neck. Keep on for 20-25 mins and wash off.




Yoghurt and olive oil mask

Make the signs of ageing disappear by giving your skin a good dose of moisturising with olive oil and yoghurt. The lactic acid in yoghurt along with moisturising quality of olive oil will make your skin soft and supple. Add 1-2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil in half a cup of yoghurt. Mix and apply on your face, focusing on wrinkles and fine lines. Wash off after 25 mins.
