Long haul British Airways serves new Economy in-flight -menu

British Airways is serving up a brand new in-flight menu just in time for 2020 across its economy, business and first-class cabins.
The airline has teamed up exclusively with caterers Newrest to give its menu an overhaul across its London Gatwick flights, in a multi-million-pound investment - and the economy option is actually quite impressive.
Passengers in the World Traveller cabin (British Airways' name for the economy), will be able to tuck into a three-course offering, alongside a Gaze Box and bread roll served with butter for snacks.
So what exactly is on the menu?
Starter: A Mediterranean vegetable and chickpea salad with feta cheese.
Main: Choice of chicken with roasted vegetables and creamy kale potato mash, jerk-style chicken, or cauliflower mac and cheese.
Dessert: Black Forest pot, cheese and crackers with chutney.
It's not just the economy food that's getting an update.
The airline has also invested millions into new menus for its World Traveller Plus (premium economy long haul), Club World (business) and First cabins, as well as Club Europe (business) on its short-haul flights.
Business main courses will include the likes of Spinach and ricotta ravioli, cherry tomato sauce, bocconcini, basil pesto, as well as seared fillet of cod, lemon and chive linguine, tomato basil sauce.
First Class main courses meanwhile will range from ribeye steak to roasted monkfish.
The new economy menu will only feature on long-haul flights from London Gatwick, although the airline hasn't shared any plans to roll this out across other routes.
Still, if you are flying in the economy for these, the airline will continue to sell M&S products for Euro Traveller passengers who do want an in-flight meal or snack.
The update comes as part of a wider £6.5billion investment by the airline to improve customer experience. As part of the venture, the airline has refreshed its Boeing 777 fleet, complete with new seats in Economy which feature a 10-inch Panasonic in-flight entertainment screen and four times more choice of movies, TV shows and audio programmes.
