BJP only alternative to TRS: Dr Laxman
Telangana State BJP president Dr K Laxman claimed here on Sunday that the party was the only alternative to the ruling TRS party. Speaking to the media at the residence of former MLA Nandishwar Goud, he described both the TRS and the Congress as ‘crooks’ (‘Thodu dongalu’) and that none should be surprised if the two parties jointly contested the next elections.
Patancheru: Telangana State BJP president Dr K Laxman claimed here on Sunday that the party was the only alternative to the ruling TRS party. Speaking to the media at the residence of former MLA Nandishwar Goud, he described both the TRS and the Congress as 'crooks' ('Thodu dongalu') and that none should be surprised if the two parties jointly contested the next elections.
The State BJP chief asserted that the Congress was suffering from lack of leadership and that after Rahul Gandhi gave up the party presidentship, Sonia Gandhi took up as the post of interim working president 'in desperation'.
He described the Congress Party as a 'sinking ship'. Referring to the TRS, Laxman criticised the party's working president K Taraka Rama Rao for remaining silent against an MIM leader's anti-Hindu diatribe, hurting people's sentiments. He accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of taking 'unilateral' decisions without holding any consultations on important issues.
The senior BJP leader alleged that the TRS government was stooping too low by threatening newspapers in the State. He warned that the people would oust the TRS from power, while claiming that all parties were looking up to the BJP. "This is only the trailer, the reality would unfold in future", he quipped.
Among those present at the press meet were Nandishwar Goud, BJP district unit president Narender Reddy, BJYM State leader Ashish Goud. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Nandishwar Goud is likely to join the BJP.
