Collector Dr MV Reddy, MLA Mainampalli Hanumantha Rao visit inundated areas
Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Dr MV Reddy, local MLA Mainampalli Hanumantha Rao, along with local corporators GHMC and NDRF teams, visited the inundated colonies in Malkajgiri circle on Friday.
Malkajgiri: Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Dr MV Reddy, local MLA Mainampalli Hanumantha Rao, along with local corporators GHMC and NDRF teams, visited the inundated colonies in Malkajgiri circle on Friday. They monitored distribution of food packets and essential items to residents of Patel Nagar, Miryalguda and Sathireddy Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector instructed the GHMC and the district officials to find a permanent solution to the inundation problem in the area. He also ordered the officials to conduct relief works and ensure that normalcy is restored at the earliest.
Local MLA Hanumantha Rao urged people to cooperate with officials in addressing the inundation problem in the area. He said that the development works in the area were hindered due to court litigations as they could not proceed with clearing of illegal encroachments beside nala and water bodies. To address the issue, a meeting would be organised involving leaders of all political parties to find permanent solutions to the problems in the area.
Locals who spoke to THI alleged that government had failed to clear illegal structures within FTLs (full tank levels) of tanks and and this resulted in frequent flooding of the area.
