Differently abled get presents on Independence Day
On the occasion of Independence Day, Rajendranagar MLA T Prakash Goud hoisted the national flag at a programme organized by Disabled Welfare Association at Gagan Pahad here.
Rajendranagar: On the occasion of Independence Day, Rajendranagar MLA T Prakash Goud hoisted the national flag at a programme organized by Disabled Welfare Association at Gagan Pahad here. Around 200 disabled people were distributed fine rice of 5 kilogram each on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the TRS government was committed to uplift of the differently abled people. Hence, the government was providing Rs 3,016 to the disabled people through Aasra scheme.
Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes, he felt, were also helping the poor people solemnise the marriages of their children with full dignity and respect. "The present government is completely a welfare and development-oriented one and Chief Minister KCR is a people's leader," he said.
The president of Mailardevpally TRS wing, S Venkatesh, Muqeet Chanda, Sai Reddy and others were present on the occasion. Later the volunteers of Disabled Welfare Association distributed mobility tools for visually challenged and wheel chairs and tricycles for differently abled. According to the president of association, Shaikh Mahboob, they provided 5-wheel chairs, 5 tricycles and one blind stick to the disabled on the occasion.
