Patancheru: Sangareddy District Collector Hanumanth Rao on Tuesday warned of taking strong action against officials, however big they might be, if they neglected duties. He stressed that every official should follow the government orders.

He was speaking after undertaking a surprise inspection of Muthangi village in connection with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's 30-day action plan and holding a review meeting on several development works. He issued a show-cause notice to Special Officer of Gram Panchayat Shailaja for alleged neglect in performing duty.

The DC called upon officials to take responsibility for development of villages along with the ruling party in the gram panchayat and to move forward. Later he held a meeting with the Sarpanch and Ward Members. Rao is to undertake an overnight stay ('palle nidra') on September 12.

Rao wanted a mega 'shramdan'programme in the village on September 13, while advising everyone to participate. Among those who accompanied the DC were Sarpanch Upender, Ward Members, officials, political leaders.
