Thousands of Andhra voters settled in Hyderabad heading to their state cast their vote got a big shock as several private transport bodies announced cancellation of buses "due to unavoidable reasons." Voters started frantically searching for other sources to reach their native places.
Kaveri Travels which regularly operates buses from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh cancelled their 125 bus services which are reserved 100 per cent. They just sent a message: "Bus is cancelled due to unavoidable reasons, Refund will be processed." In the same way Orange, Morning Star, Diwakar, Veerebhadra Travels also cancelled some of their services.
APSRTC started allotting more buses to meet the hectic rush. TSRTC Greater Hyderabad zone Executive Director Vinod and Rangareddy Regional manager Yadgiri said: "Not even a single bus of TSRTC is cancelled and we are ready to add more buses to Andhra Pradesh if needed. Almost 300 buses are available with us." People who received the messages expressed their anger and alleged that it was a plot by the travels to inflate the bus fares and sell tickets in black. After the cancellation of private buses, people rushed to railway stations to catch trains. A panic situation was witnessed at general coaches.
