Dr M Nagi Reddy not only set an example to the doctors at a professional level, but he also went beyond his field to serve the people. He is not just a doctorprenuer, but also a socialprenuer. He has created many jobs with the establishment of a hospital group, well known in the city.

Returns to India for a cause

The NRI doctor returned from London for a cause. He and his team conducted many skill-development sessions in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, he also conducted many medical camps with the help of his NGO and distributed free medicines to the needy.

"As a successful doctor in London, I was not fully satisfied. I wanted do more to my society and to my birthplace. In the process, I got associated with many NGOs and other organisations," Dr Nagi Reddy said.

Nagi Reddy has a clear will to work as a social worker. The field he is in itself is a service-oriented job, but he did not stop there. He went on to do something more than that.

Medical career

Endocrinologist, Diabetologist and General Physician Dr M Nagi Reddy graduated (MBBS) from the Gandhi Medical College at Basheerbagh in Hyderabad (NTR University of Health Sciences). He initially worked as resident and senior resident doctor at Gandhi General Hospital and at various corporate hospitals in Hyderabad in the department of medicine. Dr MN Reddy, with a clear goal to reach the heights of clinical excellence, has continued his higher studies in the United Kingdom (UK).

He obtained higher medical qualifications in General Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology. He holds membership of various prestigious royal colleges in the United Kingdom - MRCP (UK) and MRCGP (UK). He was involved in original research at Queen Mary University in London, and in the process, he obtained his Masters in Science.

Dr Nagi Reddy also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), specialising in Strategic Hospital Administration. He held various administrative responsibilities in the tertiary and in the community NHS in the United Kingdom.

On his return to India, he began pursuing Degree in Indian Law (LLB), as he was passionate to know about medical ethics and accountability. In his career spanning over two decades, he has been associated with several organisations in India, Europe, UK and USA. Starting as a junior physician in the UK, Dr MN Reddy went on to represent the regional doctors in the British Medical Association.

He fought for the cause of the working hours of junior doctors and implementation of European Working Regulations for the junior and senior doctors. Recognising his robust contribution in activities of clinical profession development & teaching, he was bestowed with an award for the "Outstanding Contribution in Profession" by the Royal College of Physicians. Dr MN Reddy is responsible for most of the India related investments, operations and business development.

His vision had placed Jubilee Hospital in a strategic position serving the poorest strata of the society with world-class ethical medicine and infrastructure facilities. In due course of his extensive career, Dr MN Reddy has participated in many international seminars and conferences on diabetes and endocrinology to further enhance his evidence-based medical knowledge and clinical skills. He has also been involved in original research and management of diabetic ketosis in type 1 diabetic patients at the Queen Mary University in London.

Dr MN Reddy is now embarking on newer business opportunities in Medical Low Cost Diagnostics, Heath Care Service Delivery and Medical Infrastructure Management. With long years of local, national and international clinical and managerial experience, and a deep passion for the academics and management science, he is a mentor and teacher for the budding clinical physicians, Diabetologists, Endocrinologists, academicians and hospital managers.
