Foot over Bridge works commence finally at AS Rao Nagar
The long-pending demand for a Foot over Bridge (FoB) on Dr AS Rao Nagar Road, for shoppers, residents and students is finally going to be fulfilled.
AS Rao Nagar: The long-pending demand for a Foot over Bridge (FoB) on Dr AS Rao Nagar Road, for shoppers, residents and students is finally going to be fulfilled. After a number of accidents involving pedestrians and motorists followed by protests, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and HMDA have started the works of the construction of FoB.
"It's difficult to cross the stretch, especially during the closing hours of the nearby colleges, as the pathway is too small for the students to cross it," said Prasad, a resident of AS Rao Nagar. The bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion near the bus stand on the road.
The FoB will be helpful for commuters to cross the road and to ease the congestion on the road. A lot of people gather to cross the road the main road and it causes trouble for the buses and vehicles also. Hopefully, the bridge should make it better" said Farheen Sultana, a college student.
This is going to be the first FoB in the area surroundings. The new bridge will be constructed under The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). Besides ensuring the safety of public, the FOB will enable several pedestrians in negotiating the traffic in the area.
