Madhapur: TEA Cares Foundation organised a Halloween themed fundraising event 'Eat Drink And Be Scary' - a spook-tacular party –at Daspalla, Jubilee Hills on Saturday. All proceeds from this event would go towards NGOs supported by TEA Cares. The event saw a healthy mix of expats and locals.

TEA Cares foundation supports five different local NGOs supporting causes ranging from education, mental health development, women empowerment and animal shelters. According to

Shilpa Rao, Secretary of TEA Cares Foundation said, "the foundation was started by Expats in 2007 and we support five different NGOs in Hyderabad. As TEA Cares we have volunteers and expats, we weekly go and support this NGOS by teaching them arts and crafts, soft skills, etc. We have annual fundraisers like this to support the cause which we are pursuing."

TEA Cares believes in supporting the community both physically, through voluntary activities, as well as monetarily, through purchase of necessary amenities at the chosen NGOs. Tea Cares is set up to streamline the voluntary efforts towards social uplift by the twin city expats. At present, it supports the following NGOs: Prardhana Trust: Govt Primary School for Underprivileged kids;

SAFA: Educate a Girl, Empower a Family; Blue Cross / People for Animals: Animal welfare organisation; PAWMENCAP: Parents Association for the Welfare of Mentally and Physically Handicapped; and Sivananda Rehabilitation Home: Treatment, care and rehabilitation of patients suffering from leprosy and tuberculosis.
