Huffaz felicitated at grand function

Malakpet: Towards honouring those students who completed dDiploma in Arabic Language and completed memorisation of Quran under MESCO ALEEF initiative, the management has organized a felicitation program on Sunday at MESCO (Muslim Educational Social & Cultural Organisation) Auditorium, Malakpet.

On the occasion, the students, who memorised the Quran during the course, were honored with "dastaar bandi" (graduation), a traditional ceremony wherein all the students, who know the Quran by heart, were felicitated with 'green turban' on their head as a mark of respect and recognition to their dedication.

Many religious dignitaries from various renowned institutions of Islamic studies from across the country graced the occasion, including Moulana Khawaja Nazeeruddin Director Madarsa Aisha Niswaan, Dr Abdul Khadeer of Beedar, Mohammed Ateeq from Moulana Azad University, Jodhpur, Moulana Mizazur Rahman, head of the Arabic Department University of Guwahati, Prof MA Haleem of Islamia Kareemia Society, Indoor, Moulana Ghiyas-ul-Islam Ramani, Director, MESCO, Dr Mohammed Ifteqar, vice-president of MESCO, Dr Ghouse Mohiuddin, and educationist Mohammed Misbah.

The speakers emphasised the need of spreading the true message of Islam through the way Quran has ordained. Soon after, the Huffaz, (the term used by Muslims for someone who has completed memorising the Quran) demonstrated their skills of reciting the Holy Scripture with Tajweed (rules of recitation) and vocalisation. They were asked to continue the recitation of a passage taken randomly from the Quran – something like viva.

On the conclusion of the programme, all the guests were felicitated by the MESCO management. Vote of thanks to special invitees and the guests was presented by Dr.Mohammed Abdul Rafeeq. Earlier, the programme commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses and its interpretation.
