Speaking at the seminar, Upender expressed his anguish at the state of affairs in the education sector in Telangana State. He lamented that private education has become big business and the poor were finding it difficult to get access to education. Upender demanded that the State government implement Right to Education in the State and take measures to give free admission to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and students belonging to the minority community in private educational institutions.

Students in the State were facing many problems as the education system in the State has gone haywire. Justice could not be done unless reservations were given to the SCs, STs, BCs and minority students on the basis of their population, he added. He said that their association would strive for the resolution of issues in the education sector, apart from fighting for the SC categorization.

Among those who participated in the seminar were state president of Madiga Hakkula Student Federation Misala Mahesh Madiga, state president of Telangana Dalita Vidhyarthi Sangham Ganta Madhu Madiga, Madiga activists Praveen Madiga, Prem Kumar Madiga and others.
