Married woman commits suicide

A 20-year-old married woman, who was allegedly harassed by husband and in-laws, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling in her house in the early hours of Tuesday.
Kukatpally: A 20-year-old married woman, who was allegedly harassed by husband and in-laws, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling in her house in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Kasim Bee and resident of Boramanda. The victim's brother Mohd Sameer alleged that Kasim Bee's husband Mohd Akbar and in-laws had been harassing her demanding additional dowry since her marriage.
He said that they had given dowry of three tolas of gold and Rs 50,000 to the groom. Though additional dowry of Rs 50,000 was handed over to Mohd Akbar, the harassment continued, he lamented. The police registered a case under Section 304 (B) IPC (dowry death) and started the investigation.
