Maulana Azad National Urdu University organises Azad Walk
As part of the ongoing Azad Day Celebrations, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University organised ‘Azad Walk’ at the campus on Friday, in the run-up to the National Education Day on November 11.
Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Azad Day Celebrations, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University organised 'Azad Walk' at the campus on Friday, in the run-up to the National Education Day on November 11.
The university has been celebrating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad from November 4. Hundreds of students, teachers, and employees of the university participated in the walk. The walk started from the HK Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies at 4.30 pm and ended at Instructional Media Centre.
Professor Ayub Khan, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, advised the students to emulate the ideas of Maulana Azad and work with honesty, dedication & hard work. Professor Mohammad Fariyad, convenor of Azad Walk, also spoke on the occasion. Professor Naushad Hussain, Registrar I/C was also present.
NSS Volunteers were seen holding the posters and paintings on Maulana Azad, highlighting the importance and awareness of Maulana Azad and his works. Meanwhile, a film on Maulana Azad was also screened in IMC Preview Theatre. Aamir Badr was the convener of the programme. They also organised a quiz competition.
According to Dr Md Afroz Alam, the convenor of quiz competition, a series of quiz contests were held on the personality and achievements of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. As many as 52 teams of 3 members each participated in the competition held at DDE Auditorium.
Students of D. El. Ed third semester, Mohd Ehsan, Mohd Qasim, and Mohammad Anwarul Huda, got the first prize whereas MM IEd first semester students, Riasat Hussain, Rizwan-ul-Haq and Mohd Ahmed Raza, received the second prize.
Third semester students of D.EL.Ed, Mohd Zeeshan, Mohd Sanaullah and Mohd Asif Iqbal secured the third prize. Dr Arif Ahmad, Dr Ahmed Raza, Ismat Fathima, Dr Irfan Ahmed, Atif Imran, Jaraar Ahmed, Dr Abdul Jabbar, and Dr Rafi Mohmad made the arrangements for smooth conduct of contests. Anis Azmi distributed prizes among the winners.
