Malkajgiri: Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, Malkajgiri MLA, appealed to people from all sections, cutting across party lines, for their active support in developing the constituency. He was speaking during his visit to RKH Colony on Tuesday to interact with locals on local civic issues. Later, he visited Lakshmi Nagar Colony and held meeting with locals at the community hall.

Responding to the complaints from the colony residents related to drainage and streetlights, the MLA instructed the officials to prepare estimates for starting a new drainage pipeline system in the colony. He promised to allocate Rs 20 lakh for the purpose.

He also instructed officials to install new streetlights in the colony at the earliest. He assured locals to find a permanent solution to the drainage issues which has been causing inconvenience for the last 30-40 years.

He said he sought Rs 210 crore funds from the state government to address the issue and nala widening works would be started once the first phase funds are released. Priority would be given to development rather than politics, he added.

Among those who accompanied the MLA during his visit include corporator Mumtaz Fathima, Ameenuddin, Prem Kumar, Ayub Ali, Pittala Srinivas, GHMC officials, TRS leaders and others.
