CITU leader flays ‘dictatorial’ attitude of state government

Patancheru: On the 12th day of RTC strike, municipal workers extended their support to the RTC workers. They demanded that the government immediately redress the employees' grievances.

While pledging the support, CITU district vice-president Narsimha Reddy charged the State government with attempts to 'suppress' the RTC strike and adopting 'indifference'. He contended that the government's threat of extending the Essential Services Maintenance Act to the strikers and removing them from service indicated its 'dictatorial' attitude.

Reddy demanded immediate holding of talks to end the strike, while warning of intensifying the agitation if the government failed to act. The municipal workers would extend total support to the RTC strike, he asserted.

Among those present were district unit president of Municipal Workers' Association Jayaram, Ameenpur Municipal Workers' Association secretary Rajender, activists Lakshmipati, Gattayya, Ravi, besides municipal workers.
