Musheerabad: National Student Union of India activists staged a protest at Dharna Chowk on Friday over Inter board goof up. Police arrested the union activists as the protest did not have police permission. At around 11 am, a large number of students led by the NSUI president Venkat stormed Dharna Chowk and raised slogans against the state government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Students demanded the state government to protect the families of the students who committed suicides and announce ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh to each student. They also demanded free reverification not only to failed students but also those who passed on border marks. The student leaders warned of continuing the agitation if the state government does not make the revaluated papers public.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkat said that they sought the police permission 44 hours prior to the protest but students were arrested by the police saying that they had no permission. He warned the state government that they cannot threaten students with oppression.

Among those who participated in the protest include Naga Madhu Yadav, Venkat Balamoru, Abhijit Yadav, Vishnu, Abhinay Goud, Rithish Rao and others. The arrested students were shifted to Musheerabad and Gandhinagar police stations.
