Open plot turns into dumping ground
An empty plot near the National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH), Bowenpally, has been turned into an unofficial dumping ground creating a huge pile of garbage, emitting a lot of stench.

The plot has been filled with domestic and hospital waste. The residents are being put to lot of inconvenience due to the foul smell.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, one of the local, P Ravi said that they had informed the authorities concerned about the piled up garbage on the open plot which was adversely affecting the environment.
Numerous verbal and written complaints were lodged with the authorities concerned, and there has been no action taken by the authorities yet. The stench and various health hazards have become a serious concern over here, says Naveen, another local. Many residents here have complained that for the past few months, the garbage has been emitting foul smell making it difficult for those passing through this area.
According to the locals, the mosquitoes, pigs, and dog menace had increased on the open plot because of the food waste and other domestic waste causing health hazards.
