Nampally: Subedar Amir Ali Khan Global Peace Foundation and Trust organised Global Peace Awards presentation ceremony at Press Club, on the occasion of International Peace Day on Saturday.

Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest, former High Court Judge Justice G Chandraiah, said that the world can progress and prosper only when all people live in harmony and peacefully. He said that all religions should proclaim peace and brotherhood. He called upon youth to carry the message of love and peace to the next generations and make this world a better place to live.

Justice Ismail, the special guest, motivated the young minds and advocated the need for promoting peace and propagating the message of poet and thinker Allama Iqbal that religion never promotes ill and hatred, but only brotherhood.

He gave a call to the people to take the path of peace and lead a joyful life. Other guests of honour, Dr Dhananjay Naik, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Alam Mehdi, Senior Journalist, Major Jayasudha, NCC officer and Physical Director Kasturba college also spoke and made the moments vibrant.

Mohammad Farook Ali Khan, the founder & chairman of foundation expressed his anguish in the present global scenario where the world is divided in the name of religion, region, caste and race etc. and wished that people adopt the path of peace.

Later Chandraiah gave the Global Peace Awards to Prof. BalaKishan, Dr.Lieutenant. Kalyana Chakravarthy, Dr.Rev. Solomon Raju, Dr. Zaheeda Begum, Ln. Veena Saraswathi, Ms. Rizwan Begum, Dr. ImamTahseen, Mrs. Rajitha Veeramachineni, Ms. Sudha Padmini and Talari Srinivas.

Also present on the occasion Dr Raj Narayan, the chief coordinator of the event, Dr Aktar Ali, Dr Ravi Teja, Naga laxmi, advisors, Shiv Kumar, coordinator, students of Kasturba women's college, Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Maha vidyalaya, Government Institute of Electronics.
