Revenue staff lambast CM for maligning department
Telangana revenue JAC, along with other employee unions, pensioner and CPS associations, organised a round table conference on the topic “Vijaya Reddy’s death and its consequences” here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Monday.
Bagh Lingampally: Telangana revenue JAC, along with other employee unions, pensioner and CPS associations, organised a round table conference on the topic "Vijaya Reddy's death and its consequences" here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Monday.
Speaking at the conference, Telangana VRO welfare association president Garike Upender Rao condemned the killing of the revenue officials and expressed fears that deliberate attempts were being made to malign revenue officials in the State. He demanded that the State government fill the vacancies that were formed after the formation of new revenue divisions and mandals in the State.
Telangana state deputy collectors' association president Lachi Reddy condemned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's remarks accusing revenue officials of corruption. He questioned why the Telangana state cannot withdraw CPS system and merge RTC with government when the neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh could implement them.
He opined that the recent land reforms initiated by the State government had damaged the revenue system. Revenue employees were finding it difficult to address land related issues due to the technical issues in the new system, he lamented. Lachi Reddy demanded that the State government provide adequate security to revenue employees in view of increasing attacks on them.
Ashwathama Reddy, convener of RTC JAC, expressed dissatisfaction that revenue employees were supporting the government in running RTC buses and urged revenue employee associations to extend their support to striking RTC employees. TMU president Thomas Reddy condemned hostile attitude of CM KCR against the striking RTC employees.
Later, Revenue JAC announced their action plan for the upcoming week. On November 13 and 14, revenue employees would conduct pen down and submit memorandums to public representatives and ministers, urging them to provide security to revenue employees. On November 15, revenue employees would conduct 'Vanta Varpu' programmes at Tahsil offices and on November 16 employees would not take up land related works.
Regional meetings would be held from November 16 to 22 at all the district headquarters. Lachi Reddy said that JAC was planning to organise 'Simha Garjana', a public meeting, in Hyderabad. UTF state secretary Chava Ravi, Jucto convener Sadanandam Goud, VRO welfare association general secretary Onguri Ramulu, Prasad and others were among those who participated in the meeting.
