The security agencies are ensuring that both events; marking the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions and also Ganesh festivities concludes peacefully, particularly in view of the 'suspicious chemical explosion', which took place on Sunday morning in Rajendra Nagar, in which a rag picker died.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar along with the senior police officials reviewed the stock of the situation in the city and alerted all the SHOs of police stations.

A strict vigilance is going on in hyper-sensitive and sensitive areas of the city. Inspectors in their limits already counselled and warned all the old offenders and rowdy sheeters not to indulge themselves in anti social activities.

Security has been beefed up at religious places and prominent Ganesh mandaps. Besides Mecca Masjid, all the prominent Ashurkhanas in Old City and other mosques are under the security radar. Additional forces have been deployed to thwart any untoward incidents in the city.

Patrolling of Blue Colt staff and Night patrolling has been intensified in the interiors and areas to keep a watch on the anti social elements and thorough vehicle checking are being conducted by the police.

Senior officials are keeping an eye on the law and order situation and regularly monitoring the movement of the miscreants. They are taking the suspicious persons into their custody and are questioning their suspicious activities.
