Bolarum: Overflowing drain and stagnant sewage water on the lanes have been a constant source of problem for the residents at Turkapally in Bolarum and also for the other surrounding areas. The sewer lines have become old and a moderate rain is enough to make the situation worse. Due to the poor sewerage system, the rainwater and the sewage water getting accumulated in front of the road and also flowing into the houses.

Locals over here have been complaining of sewage overflow. Commuters have been facing problems to travel on the road due to the stench emanating from the sewage water, says Ramulu, a local.

H Simhadri, organizing secretary at Federation of New Bolarum Colonies (FNBC), said that the main reason of the sewage overflow is due to the poor construction of sewage chambers, which is leading to the frequent blocking in the pipelines and hence overflow is causing a problem over here.

Simhadri further said that whenever we complain to the concerned authorities about the issue, they come and clean the water. Sometimes, the situation turns the same. From the past five years, we have been facing the problem, and now, we want a permanent solution. The concerned authorities must take up the perennial problem and chalk out a plan to improve the drainage system in the area.
