The rentals are charged Rs 1.5 paise per minute per km. Drivers of the bikes should possess licences. Metro Rail official D V S Raju told the media that new vehicles were being introduced on the Metro route. He said a Bengaluru firm was providing 100 bikes on rental basis for the Metro passengers.

Those possessing licences could show them and register in the app for opening of the keys, said Metro Director Oushad. Raju said arrangements were being made to protect the historic monuments in the Metro corridor.

Also steps were being taken as part of the 'First Smile, Last Smile Connectivity' for the benefit of the Metro passengers to reach their work spot and return home.
