South Central Railway has operated 162 special trains and attached 352 extra coaches during the peak rush period of 10-day Dussehra holiday season from October 1 to 10, and carried nearly 2 lakh extra passengers.

Secunderabad: South Central Railway has operated 162 special trains and attached 352 extra coaches during the peak rush period of 10-day Dussehra holiday season from October 1 to 10, and carried nearly 2 lakh extra passengers. During the period, SCR has operated 162 special trains to various destinations, including 98 reserved trains and 64 Jansadharan special trains.

Jansadharan special trains are exclusively announced to cater the passengers of short distances, covering most of Telangana, serving the passengers travelling between Kacheguda - Nizamabad, Kacheguda - Kurnool City, Kazipet- Bhadrachalam, Nanded – Aurangabad and Hyderabad - Sirpur Kaghaznagar, etc. In addition, a total of 352 extra coaches were attached to regular express trains to benefit the passengers in the waiting list.

SCR General Manager Gajanan Mallya appreciated the efforts and the teamwork of all the officers and the zonal staff for the smooth handling of festival rush. He also advised all the staff and officers to gear up for handling the return journey rush expected in the next 4 to 5 days.
