Musheerabad: Telugu Desam Party Hyderabad district leaders P Saibaba and Nellalla Kishore on Wednesday criticised the TRS government for not organising events on the death anniversary of people's poet Kaloji Narayana Rao. They described the government's indifference as 'unfortunate' and 'faulty'.

The TDP leaders attended Kaloji's death anniversary in the party office in large numbers and paid tributes to the poet. Addressing the gathering, they praised his works for inspiring the Telangana agitation and for exposing the atrocities committed during the Nizam's regime.

The leaders cited the writer's works 'Naa Godava', 'Telangana Kadalu', 'Partiva Vijayam' which gave a boost to the Telangana self-confidence and inspired people for taking up struggles for the welfare of society. 'Although Kaloji died on November 13, 2002, he still lives in people's hearts', they observed.

They hit at the TRS government for announcing to observe the Kaloji death anniversary as 'Telangana Basha Dinam' but failing, while demanding official celebration of his jayanti and observance of anniversary. Among the leaders present were Balraj Goud, Ravindra Chary, TNSF leaders Ilam Hussain, P Ashok and Raja Chowdary.
