Abids: Leaders of the Telangana Region Teachers Association on Sunday accused the TRS government of discriminating against teachers.

Newly-elected association leaders Hanumanth Rao (president) and Nawaz and Suresh (general secretaries), who were elected unanimously by the state executive council, demanded that the government immediately settle the long-pending problems of teachers, viz., uniform service rules, promotions, transfers.

They wanted the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to be scrapped and also announce PRC, besides provision of basic facilities in government schools. Referring to the RTC strike, the leaders urged the Chief Minister to hold discussions with the employees JAC "without acting unilaterally" to solve their problems.
